What do you do when you’re down and out? What do you do when you have nothing to give? What do you do when you’re feeling uninspired? You show up anyway and trust that goodness will come. This is me today.
Reflection
It’s been one of those weeks. You know, the ones where nothing seems to be going right?
Two sick kids.
Interrupted sleep.
Tension in the household.
Demanding work projects.
Barely keeping it together.
You’d love to curl up in bed and take a sick day yourself. But this day, you can’t. You have people relying on you, and you don’t want to let them down.
Somehow, you press on.
And so it would be easy to sideline our creative pursuits. Take a week off? Hell, you deserve it, mate.
But one thing I’ve noticed over the years is that when you give up on the things that bring you joy during the hard times, you end up feeling even worse, which sucks. It’s like a final kick in the teeth when you’re down.
So this felt like a mammoth effort showing up today. But now that I’m here, I’m strangely enjoying it! So, I’ll hang around writing a little longer.
I encourage you to do the same. Follow what is meaningful. It’s your beacon of light in the dark.
I help you live with more purpose, depth, and possibility — at a slower pace. I send two emails weekly. Join The Meaning Path:
Good on you for writing this while truly, justifiably down in the dumps. I'm sending healing thoughts, and knowledge that it will get better 🙏🏻
