I was outside hanging some washing when my dog started nudging me. 12.40pm. I'd missed her morning treat. She didn't wait for the right moment. She wanted it, so she asked. I never do. I keep stumbling down paths I don't enjoy, calling it service. Duty, maybe. But she nudged me once and I fed her. Gladly. No question, no judgement. Not everyone sees you as a burden.
