“Don’t take yourself too seriously. Take yourself as seriously as death itself. Don’t worry. Worry your ass off. Have iron-clad confidence, but doubt. It keeps you alive and alert! Believe you are the baddest ass in town – and [that] you suck! It keeps you honest. Be able to keep two completely contradictory ideas alive and well inside of your heart and head at all times. If it doesn’t drive you crazy, it will make you strong. And when you walk on stage tonight to bring the noise, treat it like it’s all we have – and then remember it’s only rock’ n’ roll.”
— Bruce Springsteen
I stumbled upon this quote from “The Boss”. I love the raw energy it brings.
And I don’t know why, but I got the feeling that you need to hear it today.
You need to reconnect with your mission, what matters most.
But you need to do it your way. Without the hustle, without the huffing and puffing, without the constant judgement.
There’s a way you haven’t been honest with yourself. Only you know this deep down. You’ve been ignoring it. But it hurts like a thorn in your side. What if you faced up to that thing?
And once free of that weight, let's look to that playful part of you that’s itching to get out.
What if today you didn’t take yourself so seriously?
What if you brought your rock n’ roll energy?
What would that look like?
Now, go make it happen.
It’s your time to shine.
Oh I love this, I like a short post, and this quote was new for me! What is The Boss, is it a film or book?
